Partnering with TrackVia and Sarah Evans of PRSarahEvans.com, I am pleased to participate in such an important service for the PR community. Today we launched the most comprehensive MediaOnTwitter database available online. MediaonTwitter provides PR professionals with a free resource for locating media by beat, location, name or media outlet on the microblogging platform Twitter.
To encourage PR pros, loyal readers and media to contribute to the MediaonTwitter database, TrackVia is sponsoring a contest and will give away a Kindle 2 to one user for adding media to the database and tweeting #mediatweet.
MediaOnTwitter is populated by Twitter users, vetted by editors and FREE to the entire community. Users submit information via an easy-to-use web form where entries go directly to site editors for approval. Journalists will also be reminded to populate the list when submitting a query for the popular Help a Reporter Out (HARO) resource.
In two weeks, you will find a new home for the database at PRSarahEvans.com as well as DigitalIdeamedia.com. The great news, no matter where you submit information, the list will auto-populate with media contacts from around the world.
